A Few Weeks of Travel, Fun and New Adventures!

By: Pete Marshall, Managing Partner

It’s been an eventful and exciting couple of weeks for me and the team at MFG! We’ve been fortunate to travel to some amazing places, meet incredible people, and even tick off a couple of bucket list items. This time of year, is great for reflection, so, I thought I’d take a moment to share some of these experiences with you.

Nasdaq Bell Ringing

One of the highlights of the past few weeks was the unexpected invitation from State Street Global to attend the Nasdaq bell ringing ceremony for Sheryl, Anthony and me. MFG has used State Street for some of our bond positions. For years, I’ve watched this iconic event from (usually the office), always thinking it would be pretty cool to be there in person. Well, thanks to State Street, we got that opportunity. It was a true bucket list moment for me—though, to be honest, I hoped we might be up on stage with the whole team of Marshall Financial Group, but still, it was an incredible experience.

State Street didn’t just stop at the bell ringing. They also helped set a new Guinness World Record for the most bells rung at the same time link—talk about a big achievement! And to top it all off, there was a surprise exclusive 30-minute concert by Gwen Stefani.  Hats off to State Street and their team for such a memorable event!

South Carolina

Next, Heather (our COO) and I traveled to South Carolina to meet with a potential advisor partnership. We’re always looking for ways to improve and expand the services we provide at MFG, and this trip was no exception. It could be an exciting opportunity for our clients and firm.

It was a quick trip, but the possibility of what could come out of it has us excited. Stay tuned, as I’m hoping to share more if things fall into place.

Kansas City

Lastly, Anthony, Andrew, and I made a trip to Kansas City to meet with one of our team members and advisors, Robin House. First, we met and discussed business planning and ideas. Robin’s husband is an NFL referee, so naturally, we had to take the opportunity to attend a Monday Night Football game next. The Kansas City Chiefs were playing the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and while I’m an avid Baltimore Ravens fan, I have to admit it was a thrilling experience to watch the game from the stands of another team’s stadium. Robin’s husband (referee) even waved to us from the field during the game!

If you know me, I’m all about a good meal. The best part of the trip (at least for me) was the Kansas City BBQ.. It’s truly next level.

The Balance of Work and Play

Usually, it’s all business and little play, but these past few weeks have been a nice blend of the two. While we were busy meeting with advisors and planning for the future, we also took the time to enjoy the moments and make some incredible memories. Rest assured, though—we’re still working hard to ensure your financial plans and investments are in place.

I wanted to take a quick break from the usual work updates to share some of these unique experiences. It’s been a great few weeks, and I hope you’re all doing well.

Until next time,

Pete
