With great sadness, we announce the passing of Niles Maynard Miller, a retired financial advisor and friend. Niles passed away on Monday, August 23, 2021 at Penn State Holy Spirit Medical Center due to complications from Covid-19.
Niles merged his firm, Niles Miller Financial Services, with Marshall Financial Group in 2016. He believed in creating lasting relationships with his clients and partnering with them so they could understand and reach towards their financial goals.
Niles was a man of great faith who was very active in his church, Glenvale Church of God, Marysville, PA. We often saw in his work how he put others first and gave time to help others. He loved to have picnics and gatherings with family and friends, and he enjoyed any time spent at his son’s cabin. He was an outdoorsman, and he enjoyed playing cards or just sitting and talking with friends and family. He loved to tell stories, and everyone loved to listen to them.
Before creating his own financial practice, Niles worked at AM Concrete Associates Corp. with his business partner, Jerry Aldridge, and Reno Lewis Insurance. He was born May 4, 1944 in Hershey, PA to the late Clinton T. and Florence L. (Watts) Miller. Dating on and off since May of 2004, he married Sharon Rutherford Miller in 2016. They had just settled into their “forever home” in April of 2021.
He is survived by his sons, Jeff Miller (Connie) and Scott Miller; his step-daughter, Stephanie Russell May (Scott); sister, Bonnie Ditty (Gary); sister-in-law, Ellen Miller; a granddaughter, Kayla Miller; step-granddaughters, Julie Cole and Shelby Curl (Levi); grandsons, Steve Himes and Ryan Hill (Emmanvelle); and step-great-grandchildren, Nick, Sadie, Emma, Wyatt, and Hayward, who referred to Niles as their “Happy Pappy.” He also had a great-niece, Sue Haverstock whom he loved like a daughter. Niles also leaves behind many nieces and nephews, wonderful friends and extended family.
Visitation will be from 1-3PM on October 9, 2021 at Glenvale Church of God, Marysville. Services will follow at 3PM. The service will be live-streamed on Facebook and YouTube for those who cannot attend in-person.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions to his church. The family is also asking that if anyone has a photo of themselves with Niles, that you please share by sending a copy to Glenvale Church of God, c/o Luella Hale, 1970 Valley Rd., Marysville, PA 17053.
